Pule murder: Killer says boyfriend hired him

A 31-year-old man has confessed to killing 28-year-old Tshegofatso Pule.

Muzikayise Malephane pleaded guilty to all the charges against him and entered into a plea agreement with the State.

Pule, who was eight months pregnant, was stabbed multiple times and her lifeless body was found hanging from a tree in Roodepoort in June last year.

Malephane, however, told the court that he was hired by Pule’s boyfriend to commit the murder.

The National Prosecuting Authority says the boyfriend has since been arrested.

Malephane has now turned state witness as per the plea agreement and was sentenced to 20-years in prison.

Pule’s boyfriend, who cannot be named yet, is currently in custody and will appear in court soon.
