Nurse Zoliswa Gidi-Dyosi is the first healthcare worker to receive the #COVID19 vaccine in South Africa

SA’s vaccine drive in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic started after the Johnson & Johnson vaccine arrived late last night in South Africa.

In the Western Cape, the rollout started at the Khayelitsha District Hospital where President Cyril Ramaphosa & Health Minister Dr. Zweli Mkhize received their jabs.

During the first phase of the vaccine rollout, health workers will receive the vaccine.

South Africa secured 9 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine with the first 80 000 doses that arrived last night with another 500 000 doses expected to arrive in the next four weeks
