The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) will today march to save lives as they head to the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) today to demand approval of more COVID-19 vaccines.

Taking to the streets under the banner March To Save Lives, the EFF is calling for Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine and the Chinese Sinovac manufactured Coronavac vaccine to be approved and rolled out to South Africans.

Julius Malema’s unapologetic stance on the President’s planned vaccine rollout is that it is ineffective, slow and risking South Africans lives. While the party supported the president’s decision to lockdown the country he feels that another lockdown will not help matters.

Instead he has initiated the march to save lives for a faster vaccine distribution plan.

Meanwhile SAHPRA CEO, Dr. Boitumelo Semete-Makokotlela said the health regulatory body will not bow to pressure and the approval of vaccine suppliers was not an easy process. It had to undergo several procedures before being approved and accepted for public usage.
