The leadership of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have led demonstrations outside the US Embassy and consulate offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town on Monday.
This is in solidarity with the widespread Black Lives Matter protests against the violent killing of black people by police in the United States (US).
EFF president Julius Malema was in Pretoria leading the national day of action, with Floyd Shibambu in Sandton, observing a moment of silence for the killing of George Floyd.

Floyd was a 46-year-old black man, who died in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after white police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes while Floyd was handcuffed and lying face down on the street.
Meanwhile, in South Africa, the EFF covered the legal fees of Collins Khoza.
Khoza died at the hands of the South African National Defence Force after he was found drinking alcohol in his yard after the country went into lockdown.
