Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Lovers Mohlala, who is also from Alexandra, is adamant that the electrical cables stories are untrue.
“Lucky’s death had nothing to do with the community, and that’s how I understand it. It is an insult for people to say that Lucky was beaten up to death by the community. It was just four individuals, some of whom were even underage, and it was for something else and not this thing of cables that people are talking about. They unleashed dogs to bite him. I don’t want to comment much on this, because I feel that I have done what I needed to do, but there are other newspapers and radio stations that are misleading people and I want to appeal to them that they should stop lying to the public. One of those publications is a newspaper that used to write lies about me. Like I say, I did go to Lucky’s family, but I cannot disclose anything that I discussed with the family because I am not tasked with doing so. I am responding to you on this because I have done my investigation and it doesn’t sit well with me that people are lying about Lucky’s death,” he concluded.
