Kaizer Chiefs veteran player Bernard Parker, who is a stalwart of the Amakhosi team has officially graduated, for the second time.
Affectionately known as ‘Die Hond’, he recently bagged at Boston College and shared his latest success with his fans on social media on Wednesday.
As one of Kaizer Chiefs’ top goal scorers, Parker cemented his legendary status in the fields and has a promising future away from soccer.
In 2020, the Amakhosi captain bagged a Sport Management qualification from the same College.
In a recent interview he spoke about how education is most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
“It is important to gain knowledge,” says Parker. “It makes it interesting and mind blowing to link knowledge with what you do in practice on the pitch. Key to all is a never give up spirit.”
His journey to balance school and soccer hasn’t been easy, he also shared his journey.
“I had to sleep early and wake up very early to study,” Parker comments, “My clock was adjusted to sleeping mode at 19:00 and waking up at 3am.”
The start of a new journey is always amazing to watch, especially that of an incredible player such Bernard Parker, his passion for education is all in the name of paving the way for his future goals:
“I have already registered for a Higher Certificate in Sports Marketing to study next year. I want to share my football experiences with the youngsters in the team. Most of all I want to continue enjoying football,” he said.
