According to BusinessDay, Minister of Police Bheki Cele and Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, have made it clear that they believe a return to a level 4 lockdown is merited with the sharp increase in deaths and the persistent high daily increase of infections.
The ministers suggested this in a meeting of the Coronavirus National Command Council on Wednesday. Although nothing has yet been decided, a stricter lockdown seems more and more likely. Meanwhile many South Africans still refuse to adhere to health and safety protocol. Even though wearing masks has been made mandatory, many can still be seen not wearing masks.
No time or date for a Presidential Address has been announced.
